Maya loves spending time in nature, meaning at home, on her desk, painting.

About Me

I started painting at the age of 5, when I tried painting my living room armoire out in the street with chalk. My mom tried to steer me into other interests, thinking that painters couldn’t make much money, but eventually realized she couldn’t shake off my love for painting. So they enrolled me in traditional art classes. From then on, all I could think about was painting. Eventually, I decided to study Fine Arts in University.

As a lost freshman, I ventured off to study photography, sculpture, lacquer, CG, design and other forms of art only to realize I couldn’t depart my love of paints. I started exploring watercolors more deeply after working as a video game and character designer. I now work fully on watercolors, exploring the various techniques and styles out there. I hope you love my work, and if you’re interested in hiring me to turn your favorite photo into a heirloom, please check out “Watercolor Your Life!” for full details.

My paintings explore the dichotomy between order and chaos, existing in the flow of Time, Water and Colors. I try to capture everyday objects, people, and pets to portray a realism infused with it’s own soul, but that is also filled with the softness and unpredictability of water and the signature of watercolors. I believe every painting is it’s own adventure, and one can never know what all these elements will turn out, but it’s always a joy and an excitement I hope the viewer can feel

Amongst some of my favorite pet portraits are these….

With pets, I love capturing their expressions, sometimes even as vivid as people’s.
